The freeloader has LED's to show that the battery is charging and has charged however the solar cell power has been restricted so that it wont ever fully 100% charge the battery – merely around 96 to 98%. The reason is that if, for example, if the solar panels were left out and exposed for a week or more without using power they would overload the battery and it would be damaged. So there is a charge controller built into the circuit board to protect against this – hence it will never achieve a 100% “green light on” charge. So please do not be alarmed if your Green LED does not come on. Once the batteries have been charged for the recommended time please try charging your appliances.
